Assignment 1

ICT can be used for both in classroom and out of it. There are several ways that applications such as MS Office and other computer programs can make work easier and  more effective especially given the various roles of ICT to an educator. The most common programs used are MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and i have in fact used all of them at some point or the other to aid delivery of the curriculum as well as to assist administrative duties,. the major challenges that i face thus far are;
Access to the school network - this is due to faulty servers and slow bandwidths
Access to hardware such as printers and scanners
Having the members of my department leave the box and begin to use ICT's in their practice - it is also difficult in administrative duties to prepare documents etc and share the same via email or direct messaging.
Updating my existing computer skills

Overcoming these challenges will be a challenge in itself since the first two problems would require administrative and Ministerial support to effect change after i request that changes are made. the third challenge can be overcome over time if i continue to model using ICT's and the other teachers buy in to the use of same. The last challenge concerning me specifically would require me to seek and pursue learning programs to help update my computer skills  to be better able to use ICT's.

The table below shows a few of my own documents that support some of the roles of educators in ICT's
